Firefox 3 disable single click select all in location bar

Relating to my previous post on how to disable awesome bar, it seems that they are other changes on the new final release. One of the new changes to awesome bar is when you click on the location bar or the awesome bar, the click will select the entire URL in the location bar. In previous version of Firefox, single click will insert a the cursor, while double clicking will select the entire URL in Firefox location bar.

If you are not comfortable with the new function, you can disable single click will select the entire URL in location bar or awesome bar by editing in config file. The steps are:

  1. Type about:config in location bar
  2. Go to
  3. Double click to change the value to “false”
  4. Close and restart .

Firefox 3 disable single click select all in location bar

By editing and changing the value of to false will disable single click select all, and will resulted in the same action as the previous version of firefox, where single click will insert a cursor in the location bar.
