Windows 7 will be ready for Christmas

Microsoft have announced that will be ready for Christmas. Unfortunately not this Christmas, but next year, Christmas 2009.

This differ from what Microsoft have been telling the media before, that will not be ready at least until year 2010. If ships in 2010, it will be 3 years after the official release of Microsoft Windows Vista.

Some industry observers speculated that by trying to release on Christmas 2009, Microsoft is trying to copy the success of Windows XP, which was officially launched on October 2001, just in time for 2001 holiday shopping spree.

Whether will continue the success of Windows XP or not, we will just have to wait and see.
